Meningococcal disease is a rare but serious bacterial infection of the blood and/or brain. Anyone can get it, but it is most common in infants less than 1 and people 15-19 years of age. Meningococcal B is currently not included in the National Immunisation Program for children.

Our doctors and the Australian Immunisation Handbook strongly recommend Mengicoccoal B vaccinations for infants and adolescents.

Bexsero is a vaccine that will help protect again Men B and is available and in stock in our practice.

It is given to babies usually at 2, 4, 6 and 12 months. Please note there is a fee of $130 per dose.

If you have any questions about Bexsero, please do not hesitate to consult your doctor.
